Additional Tips:
Using the Wooden Spoon Method for Hasselback Potatoes
Using the Wooden Spoon Method: To ensure your potatoes don’t get cut all the way through, place the potato on a wooden spoon or chopsticks on either side of the potato. This simple trick will stop the knife from slicing down, leaving the bottom intact for the signature form of Hasselback potatoes.
Even Slicing: For the best results, try to slice your potatoes as evenly as possible, about 3 mm apart. This helps ensure that they cook uniformly and develop that perfect crispiness.
Breadcrumb Variations or Additions: Add grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
Flavor Boost: If you’re not using garlic, try adding fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) to the butter-oil mixture for additional aromatic flavors.
Check for Crispiness: Depending on your potato size, baking time may vary. Keep an eye on the potatoes as they bake.
Serving Tip: These crispy potatoes make a fantastic side to roasted meats, grilled fish, or even a fresh salad. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them as they are!
