- 800 g starchy potatoes e.g. Russet or Maris Piper, peeled
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 1 - 2 tsp salt or to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper or to taste
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly (about 2–3 mm thick).
Peel the onion and slice thinly.
Lightly grease a baking dish.
Add the potato and onion slices to the dish.
Mix minced garlic, cream, salt, and black pepper in a bowl and combine with the potatoes. Mix well.
Bake for 60 to 75 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
Let the dish rest for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken.
